Southern-Railroads.org Editor – Sandhi Kozsuch
A Johnson City, TN native, I’m Sandhi (Sandy) Kozsuch the Editor of Southern-Railroads.org. Don’t let the spelling of my name throw you, I spent my early years in the beautiful Blue Ridge mountain region, and still sport remnants of a southern accent. Other career and train stops throughout my life include Richmond, Charlotte, New York City, and now the Atlanta area…..all excellent railroad destinations.
After a 50-year career in television and the internet, it was time to enjoy my life-long interests and hobbies as a second career. In my youth, I spent countless hours watching the Clinchfield, the ET&WNC, and the Southern Railway trains parading past my school. Now, I can build upon and share those great memories and railroads through this website, and its two partner websites: Appalachian-Railroads.org and Clinchfield.org.
Website Goals
My goals for this endeavor are simple:
- Create new railfans
- Preserve and further explore the stories and the history of the Southern Railway and its predecessors and successors
- Share the new information and stories I find, and link you to the information that exists
- Create online guides for the railroads as they exist today
- Honor and highlight the individuals and organizations who have these same goals. and those who have already given so much of their time in decades past.
The content of this website will be donated to the archives of the region and the railroad historical associations.
Southern-Railroads.org – A Work in Progress
I’m hoping to have the website in good shape initially by the end of 2025. However, I know true completion is years away. In our third year of the three websites, visitors from around the world will exceed 40,000. The websites are non-commercial and are meant to be used for educational and entertainment purposes. Even though we try to have multiple sources for each page on this site, we cannot guarantee total accuracy.
Please come back and visit Southern-Railroads.org in the years ahead. Don’t hesitate to contact me using the form below if you have similar interests in the Southern Railway.
Thanks for stopping by.
Sandhi
